Cold Calling Tip - Just Keep Dialing
Even though it’s been a few years since I’ve seen the movie “Finding
Nemo” there is a line from Dory (Nemo’s memory impaired side kick) I
will always remember. In one of her moments of fear and confusion, she encouraged
herself by saying aloud “just keep swimming, just keep swimming.” I
use this line myself from time to time, but with a slight modification; “just
keep dialing, just keep dialing.”
As 2009 begins to wind down, you may be tempted to let your cold calling efforts
wind down. Let me encourage you to “just keep dialing.”
Many of the customers we conduct outbound calling campaigns for generate some of
their best sales during the last quarter of the year. That’s because some
of their prospects have a “use it or lose it” policy stating that if
they don’t spend the money in their budgets in the calendar year it was allotted,
they will lose it and the following years’ budget will be reduced. Other prospects
need products or services in order to meet milestones or goals that were set for
them at the beginning of the year. Companies need innovative products and services
all year long.
If you want to make the most of what’s left of this year, and set yourself
up for much-improved sales next year, then “just keep dialing”.
It’s always the right time to cold call.
